The Effects of Nozzle Inclination, Area Ratio, and Side-Hole Aspect Ratio on the Flow Behavior in Mold

During the steel continuous casting, submerged entry nozzle (SEN) plays a crucial role in fluid characteristic of steel, which further affects slab quality. In this paper, model is developed to study influences inclination, area ratio, and side hole aspect ratio on steel. The results show that when angle increased from 10° 20°, impact points narrow surface were 0.402 m, 0.476 0.554 m away meniscus, respectively. addition, 0.96 1.16, it resulted significant decrease speed high-temperature liquid flowing out nozzle. Moreover, side-hole was 1.47, maximum turbulent kinetic energy free reached 0.00141 m2 s−2. Furthermore, 1.67 1.84, slight difference existed, almost 0.00095 proposed can provide theoretical basis guidance for optimization.
